Impounded Vehicle Processing
Vehicle impounds are processed between 08:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
to 4:00 p.m. with the Records Division and can be done so by completing the
following steps:
Must provide proof of ownership if you are not listed as the REGISTERED
OWNER on DMV Records. (A signed note from the registered owner
allowing someone else to pick up the vehicle on their behalf is acceptable.)
If vehicle is not registered by current owner, you must go to DMV and
register the vehicle prior to coming to the Sheriff’s Office.
Must provide proof of CURRENT INSURANCE, such as a certificate of
liability from your insurance agent stating that your policy is paid
up-to-date!! (Card you carry in your vehicle states company name, policy
number, agent name and expiration of policy, it does not state if you are
currently insured. You must provide verification that policy is still
active.)
Pay Impound Administrative Fee of $75.00, payable with cash or check/money
order (payable to Coos County).
