As the night grew late and cool, a camp lantern lighting SAR's position overlooking the North Bend Athletic Track, signaled walkers that SAR was alert and on duty.

The white spots above the luminaries are walkers wearing glow-in-the-dark sticks.

JJ Kellum instructs Brian Hibdon as to how much sand to place in each luminary before inserting candle.

Right:
JJ reads the name of a cancer victim.  Each luminary, bearing a victim's name was carefully placed in order along the track so relatives and friends could find the glowing bag during the night.

It took quite a few wagon loads to get all the luminaries on the field.
